    According to our many years of Engineering experience, the main characteristics of wastewater from alcoholic production are as follows:

    (1) About 12-16 tons of alcohol waste residue (high concentration organic wastewater, mainly containing suspended solid insoluble oil, protein, starch, colloid; dissolved sugar, acid, alkali and salt) are produced for each ton of alcohol production;

    (2) SS content was high, averaging 40 000 mg/L;

    (3) High temperature, with an average temperature of 70 C;

    (4) High concentration, COD as high as 20000-30000 mg/L;

    (5) Containing about 500 mg/L organic acid, alkali or reflux sludge can be considered to balance the acidity and alkalinity of wastewater in the initial stage of anaerobic process. After stable operation, it has buffer capacity, without alkali or reflux.


    For alcohol manufacturing waste-water, we mainly adopt the following treatment:

    (1) Pretreatment: cooling, adjusting pH;

    (2) Anaerobic treatment: high temperature anaerobic CSTR reactor (mixer is added to conventional anaerobic reactor to make complete mixing);

    (3) Aerobic treatment: biological turntable, contact oxidation;


    (4) Advanced treatment: coagulation sedimentation, filtration, activated carbon adsorption.
